Roth positions Anabaptist-Mennonite history within the larger sweep of church history beginning at Pentecost. His selection of stories follows a rough chronological timeline and worldwide scope. While the latter chapters reflect the perspective and storyline of liberal Mennonites, they dip back into the common history shared by conservatives and raise issues worthy of reflection.
