Learning to Read: Phonemic Awareness

Phonemic Awareness is the ability to hear all the sounds in a word and then manipulate those sounds by adding, deleting, or substituting other sounds. This skill is a prerequisite for learning to read text. In this session, we will discuss some foundational principles that should guide your reading classes so that your little people can “crack the reading code” effectively.  If you are teaching reading for the first or second time, this class is for you!
