In this analogy-driven drama, three authors discuss the books they are writing. One of the authors is telling the others what happened after she created characters that have free will. The focus jumps back and forth between commentary by the authors and snippets of discussion amongst the characters of the author’s story. The author’s characters have gotten out of control by defying her wishes, questioning her goodness, and making bad choices. The author decides that the only way to save them is to write herself into the story and call them back to who she wants them to be.
